CND SHELLAC

Well, there's something to be said for that!

I love CND Creative products and I've used their acrylics for many years. So there is "something to be said for" their long standing

significant time in the nail industry

that everyone and their dog wants to call or associate a non CND SHELLAC® brand as shellac. Going to say this clearer. There is only one gel polish that is called shellac..cough...I mean Shellac and it's CND Shellac!

CND Shellac is a hybrid gel and regular polish formulation.

It's been around sine 2010 and although I only carry a few bottles of it like the lovely Black Pool. It would be a nice to have even more of the line. I carry another line that is not a hybrid but 100% gel and cures by LED.

So what exactly is Shellac AGAIN!

  1. a gel polish by CND
  2. long-lasting shelf life formulation
  3. formula is a hybrid gel and regular polish combination
  4. cures with UV light
  5. easier and faster to soak off than a 100% gel which needs to first be drilled off a bit on the top layer to break the seal
  6. long lasting 2 weeks from application

Conclusion, there is no anybrand+shellac, there is only CND Shellac. I say this because I like my clients to be informed. I am always asked if I do shellac lol To a nail tech of course it sounds like "Do you do Revlon?" So, I reply that shellac is a brand name like Revlon but yes I do gels and have a vegan option is that is something which is preferred. For someone who doesn't want a 100% gel with a quick and easy removal. CND is a brand to use. Also, brands like LoveOn gels are easier on the natural nails and there are many others as well.

I say something should be said about this great product and it's little quirks!

Seche Vite

There are a lot of natural nail polish top coats out on the market but Seche Vite rules the world, and they can say that! I have used it for years and never stopped using it. In fact there were only two topcoats I ever had. The original Cina Sealer because it was rubber based with lots of flex. For someone with a flexible nail a more solid hard dense topcoat would cause, could cause separation and shattering of the polish on the nail or chunky chipping. Like oil and water.

THEN for a no chip, high gloss, rock hard, durable, fast drying topcoat you want to have Seche Vite. I buff my toe nails and the stuff literally grows off. If I have color on my toes, same, it grows off intact like the true polish protector  Seche Vite is. I love it!

...and then there was cotton candy

There's a trick to working with it. You must apply it evenly and quick else you'll get the cotton candy strands that bring back memories of the PNE. You know when you just stood there watching the sugar spin. If you miss breaking one of those strands and it lands on a nail. Just leave it! That shell is already drying and protecting itself and you should be able to rub off the strand when it's dry. Just make sure you have more on your brush than you need so you can do all the strokes on the nail without having to return to load up the brush again with product. The less you have on your brush the better chance it starts drying and throws off the strands of cotton candy like wisps. Be precise and fast. Don't try and go back and fix something because that beautiful rock hard shell is dryer than you think. It dries so fast it's really fantastic. If you sport natural nails on your hands or feet you'll want to use this product. Your pedi will last as long as any gel top coated with this product.

Yes, I have the bottle of thinner that came out called Restore.....actually use it but not often.
